Wanderer, Fierce Prophet
Welcome to the home page of the
Fierce Prophet, Wanderer.
My main interest in this game is fighting, not talking. But as Fierce Prophet
I can't get away without making my opinions known by whatever method. So here is
my attempt at putting my point of view forward. I'm not willing to bind myself
to a set of restrictive rules. Attitude and action are what is important. Here
are some general guidelines, though.
- You should not attack someone who couldn't reasonably anticipate the
attack.
- You won't release Dybuk, or support Dybuk releasers.
- You won't prey on ships significantly weaker than yourself.
- You won't violate the sanctity of Dybuk protection.
Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations from Fierce
Chosen:
- Uphold general standards of conduct.
- Participate in frequent player-to-player combat.
- Cooperate with efforts to chain Dybuk or track down Evil Ring holders.
- Provide combat advice to captains that request it.
- Be prepared for combat at any time (except when offering Dybuk
protection) - any Chosen who comes moaning to me about how unfair it was
that so-and-so attacked them will get short shrift.
- Long-term Chosen must not be long-term Chosen by any other Prophet.
My chosen are expected to fight. Assuming that their targets are not
unacceptable, then any and all tactics (except for violating a 'flag of truce'
or an offer of Dybuk protection) will be valid - I will not force my
Chosen to fight with one hand tied behind their back. However, there must be at
least some demonstrably 'fierce' combats and actions in a captain's recent
history for them to gain and retain Chosen status.
Naturally, I will set aside any personal loyalties in dealing with the
prophet's post. I have changed my status to
off-duty UPF, and I will keep it
there until I can persuade the majority of my Chosen, of whom the majority (at
the time) will be non-UPF, that it is appropriate for me to resume my active
status. Note that this doesn't mean that I'll be biased against the UPF
in terms of appointing chosen, just that I won't stuff the ranks of chosen with
UPF and let them decide that it is OK for me to become active again!
Anyone want to be Chosen?
Guidelines for selecting and maintaining Chosen:
- Captains won't be chosen unless they ask!
- All appointments will be made regardless of alliance affiliation.
- All sizes of ships will be eligible to become chosen - it is attitude and
actions that are significant.
- Chosen will agree to abide by the duties and responsibilities listed above
- if they don't, they're out!
- There is no such thing as a permanent Chosen position; all captains must
continue to demonstrate their Fierceness, or they will be replaced. That
implies that, for example, they must tell me when they participate in combat
with another player.
- I'll maintain as many Chosen as I can, assuming I can find sufficient who
make the grade. If there are too many, then those I judge to be least fierce
will be replaced. Of course, such replacements won't be permanent either.
Basically, you must demonstrate, and continue to demonstrate, Fierceness.
